Health Promotion on Hepatitis Virus My health promotion or prevention will take place in a college seminar at community college; I chose this group of people because I realized many colleges make medical records mandatory for only students in the health related courses and also freshmen living on campuses. I asked myself, what about those other students who are doing other courses or major who may also be at risk. The main purpose for viral hepatitis teaching is to inform the students of the importance or benefits from vaccines to prevent hepatitis virus. This will take place in the school auditorium to get access to internet and projector to present the information. After this teaching, students will be able to learn the following: †¢ The types of viral hepatitis †¢ Causes of the types of hepatitis †¢ Ways of preventing viral hepatitis The leading cause of liver damage due to viral hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus represents a major health problem in the United States. â€Å"CDC estimates that approximately 3.2 million of Americans are chronically infected with hepatitis C virus, with an estimate of 8,000 to 10,000 hepatitis C virus related deaths annually† (CDC foundation). Hepatitis can be defined as â€Å"liver inflammation caused by viral infection or toxins like drugs or alcohol† (Myers, 2015).
